Time series download

This screen lets you dowload a comma-separated textfile with model time series. You can readily load this textfile into Excel: an example of the data records in a spread sheet is shown below.

Apart from the date and time, expressed as year, month, day and hour, each record contains wind speed (u10-hourly averaged at 10m above sea level), the corresponding wind direction (u10d), significant wave height (Hs), mean wave direction (Hsd), zero-crossing wave period (Tz), mean wave period (Tm) and peak wave period (Tp). These wave parameters are based on the total sea state. All directions are nautical, i.e. 0 degrees means coming from the north and 90 degrees means coming from the east.

The header of the file (see below) contains meta data about the time series such as the co-ordinates of the location of interest. Note that this can be an offshore model point or a nearshore location. Offshore, the (deep water) wave model will be the data source. Nearshore timeseries are generated by the simple shallow water model or the wave ray model.
