Scatter table 3D

A 3D scatter table consists of standard 2D scatter tables, i.e. one all-sector 2D table and one 2D table for each directional sector or wind speed class.

Depending on your choice, pairs of wave height and wave period are either distributed over directional sectors (by means of the corresponding wave direction) or over wind speed classes (by means of the corresponding wind speed). Pairs of wave height and wind speed are distributed over directional sectors by means of the corresponding wind direction. Triplets of wave height, wave period and wave direction can be based on the wind sea or swell part of the wave spectrum. Note that, in general, relative occurrences in a 2D table corresponding to a specific directional sector or class do not add up to 100 percent: their sum is equal to the percentage of all samples falling inside that particular sector or class. Empty sectors or classes are left out. Be aware of the fact that 3D scatter tables are always based on wave model data.

Use the link above each 2D table to download all results in a comma-separated text file for further processing. This ASCII file is comma-separated and can easily be imported into other applications such as Excel for further processing. The 2D tables are given for each non-empty directional sector or wind speed class.

Alternatively, the full 3D scatter table can be written to ASCII file as quadruplets of for instance wave height, wave period, wave direction and percentage of occurrence of this combination (1 line per table entry).
